ALL THAT LATIN JAZZ
Intensive Latin Jazz Summer Camp workshops include: Latin Jazz music history; introduction to the fundamental language of Latin Jazz; a revolution of Latin American rhythms; Latin Jazz theory and technique; Latin Jazz improvisation illustrated; customized individual and small group interactive ensemble jam sessions; learn from some of the top Latin Jazz players in the area. Experience the total spectrum of Latin Jazz in sunny Miami and surrounding areas.
ANTONIO ADOLFO SCHOOL OF MUSIC
It includes regular classes as well as clinics presented by guest musicians. The Antonio Adolfo School Of Music is located in Hollywood, FL (USA). The different classes are being scheduled between 9AM and 7PM.
FLORIDA ATLANTIC UNIVERSITY
This highly regarded school features a wide range of course studies that include Big Band, Combos, Jazz History, Studio, an inhouse student run record label, and more! Various degrees are available--including: Bachelor of Music-Jazz Studies, Bachelor of Music-Commercial Music, and Masters of Music-Commercial Music.
FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY – School of Jazz
The FIU Jazz Performance program offers a wide spectrum of degrees for both the undergraduate and graduate levels, offering a healthy variety of Jazz music programs that include its renowned Big band, also a Latin Jazz Ensemble, Jazz History, Jazz Guitar Ensemble, and five Jazz Combos. Its powerhouse faculty includes Mike Orta, Sam Lussier, Arturo Sandoval, Gary Campbell, Tim Pitchford, Goetz Kujack, Chuck Bergeron, Nicky Orta, Carlos Averhoff, Errol Rachipov, Hector Neciosup, Bob Grabowski, David Fernandez, and Richie Zellon.
MIAMI DADE COLLEGE
This school features various campuses in Miami offering the first two years of a four-year music degree in performance, music education, and theory and composition; also Jazz Ensemble & Studio Jazz, Community Jazz Ensemble, as well as the newly founded Latin Jazz Institute.
FLORIDA MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY
One of the area’s finest schools for Jazz studies features a state-of-the-art music facility as well as the fabulous Lou Rawls Theater for the performing arts. FMU features a renowned faculty that includes Mr. Melton S. Mustafa, Director of Jazz Studies/Associate Professor of Music; Ms. Nicole Yarling; Director of the Popular Music Program/Music Instructor, among others. From small ensemble to its Presidential Big Band Orchestra, FMU is also home to the area’s only pure Jazz event—the annual Melton Mustafa Jazz Festival.
UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI – Frost School of Music
The Frost School’s Studio Music and Jazz Instrumental Program offers you the chance to study with outstanding jazz educators while developing your jazz and studio performance skills and pursuing career goals such as jazz or studio musicians, composers, arrangers, conductors, or instrumentalists.
YOUNG MUSICIANS' CAMP
Celebrating its 10 year anniversary last summer, the camp is open to instrumentalists and vocalists ages 7-18. Students can pick classes in Jazz, Rock, or Classical music, offered in 4 levels from Elementary through Honors.
The South Florida Jazz Summit is a fundraising event produced annually by the Jazz Museum of Florida, Inc (dba Jazzonian), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All proceeds from this event go to community outreach jazz education programs under the aegis of the Jazz Museum of Florida, Inc.

The mission of the South Florida Jazz Summit is to bring the Jazz industry together; committed to empowering Jazz; thereby, serving as a cultural bridge--bringing people together for this higher purpose of preserving, advancing and celebrating this precious American artform that we love called Jazz; providing networking and educational opportunity; helping to energize the local Jazz scene; bringing awareness to area Jazz institutions and organizations; showcasing the best emerging young Jazz talent from great area schools, as well as helping to empower South Florida as a world class destination for live Jazz.
